Position Title : Technologist, Carpentry Techniques and Renovation (Level 1)
Status : Full Time
Hours : 40 hours per week
Faculty / Department : Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology
Campus / Location : North Campus, 110 Carrier Drive
Salary : FT Support Payband : H
S alary Range : $36.29 - $42.13
Starting Salary : $36.29
Progression through the payband is in accordance with the increments in the payband as outline in the Full-Time Support Staff Collective Agreement based on actual service in the payband.
About the Faculty of Applied Sciences & Technology at Humber :
The Faculty of Applied Sciences & Technology (FAST) at Humber College offers a dynamic and innovative learning environment, combining academic theory with hands-on practice in fields such as cybersecurity, engineering, embedded systems, and skilled trades. With cutting-edge facilities, applied research projects, and strong industry connections, FAST prepares students for careers in emerging technologies and complex systems. Faculty members play an integral role in advancing research and developing future leaders in technology and applied sciences.
About the Technologist, Carpentry Techniques and Renovation (Level 1) Role :
The incumbent in this position will support the professors and students in the lab environment.
The incumbent will maintain a safe working environment in keeping with safety codes and safe work practices. Responsibilities include :
- The guidance of students in the lab
- The demonstration of correct procedures and practices with equipment and tools
- Maintenance of tooling and equipment
The incumbent will perform general repairs and maintenance on all shop equipment. The fabrication of project boards and student work stations for the associated programs will also be required.
Additional duties include the ordering of materials, tools and equipment, maintaining inventory, ordering supplies, and training and monitoring of work-study students in the shop.

Education
Trade certification or equivalent
Incumbent must be trained in the vendor specific equipment directly related to their specialization.
