DMC RecruitmentAlberta, CAOur Client is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Controller to join the senior finance team of a dynamic and growing organization in the construction and building supplies industry. This role is critical in developing and implementing financial strategies, overseeing accounting operations, and supporting financial integration for future mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
As a key member of the Senior Finance Team, the Controller will direct all financial accounting, controls, and systems, ensuring the organization’s fiscal health and compliance while driving efficiency across all accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities
The Controller will oversee and manage the accounting, accounts payable, and payroll functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information by implementing and maintaining robust accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. This role involves directing financial system upgrades, managing relationships with independent auditors, and developing strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across accounting functions.
The Controller will hire, train, and retain skilled finance and payroll staff while supporting the integration of financial teams, processes, and systems for future mergers and acquisitions. Additionally, they will provide financial analysis, projections, and recommendations to stakeholders and perform other related responsibilities as needed to ensure the organization’s financial success and compliance.
