Apprentice Plumber

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Plumber to join our growing mechanical team in the Ottawa region. This role focuses primarily on commercial heating and cooling systems, including boilers and geothermal systems, with some plumbing fit‑ups as required. You’ll work on a variety of commercial projects and gain exposure to full project lifecycles—from installation through service and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform commercial plumbing service and maintenance
• Assist with commercial plumbing installations and new construction
• Support and work on heating, cooling, boiler, and geothermal systems
• Troubleshoot issues and demonstrate strong problem‑solving skills
• Manage assigned tasks and projects from start to finish
• Accurately complete work orders and timesheets
• Participate in occasional after‑hours or weekend work, including potential out‑of‑town assignments

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of experience in commercial plumbing
• 309A License or registered plumbing apprenticeship
• Experience with steel pipe joining methods, including:
  • Grooved
  • Welded
  • Flanged
  • Screwed

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with construction or service-related software
• Strong service diagnostics abilities
• Welding experience or background
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Projects located mainly within the Ottawa region
• Standard schedule:
  • Monday to Friday
  • 8.5-hour shifts
  • Start times between 7:00–8:00 AM, ending 3:30–4:30 PM

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nepean, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
