Job description12 years of experience in a Kitchen Assistant role. High School diploma or GED required. Current Food Handler Certification or willingness to obtain it. Experience in a daycare environment is an asset. Valid drivers license and a clean drivers abstract. Strong communication skills. A clean criminal record check is required. Physical ability to lift push and pull up to 45 pounds. Ability to work Monday to Friday 8 hours a day. Recognition for your hard work dedication and contribution. We are looking for an on-call Kitchen Assistant to report to the Centre this role you will be an important part of the Kids & Company team helping manage daily kitchen operations. Your responsibilities will include preparing and cooking food in accordance with Kids & Company standards and our mission statement.
Responsibilities
- Daily Duties include preparing vegetables and starches cutting fruit portioning heating food dishwashing and delivering food to the classrooms.
- Assist the Chef in preparing meals and snacks for children with special dietary requirements.
- Ensure proper food storage and disposal maintain temperature logs and comply with all health regulations and best practices.
- Follow proper washing and sanitizing procedures for all dishware after collection from classrooms.
- Uphold the kitchen cleaning schedule including daily weekly and monthly tasks.
- Duties and responsibilities may evolve depending on the daycare centers needs.
