  • Coordinate the ordering and purchasing of housekeeping supplies and equipment as required.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repair of housekeeping equipment and communicate room or facility maintenance concerns to the Maintenance Department.
  • Review employee time records and assist with payroll, scheduling and departmental labour-cost controls.
  • Coordinate closely with Front Office, Maintenance, Laundry and other hotel departments to ensure rooms are available according to operational requirements.
  • Respond to guest concerns relating to housekeeping services and assist with appropriate service recovery.
  • Ensure housekeeping employees comply with hotel policies, safe work practices, WSCC requirements and applicable occupational health and safety standards.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and communicate operational priorities to the housekeeping team.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.

Education: Completion of secondary school is required. A university degree or college diploma in hotel management, hospitality management, business administration or a related field is preferred. Relevant housekeeping supervisory experience may be considered in place of post-secondary education.

Experience: Minimum 1 to 2 years of relevant hotel housekeeping experience, including supervisory, team-lead or housekeeping management experience.

Language: Fluent English required.

Wage: $25.00 per hour.

Hours: Fulltime 30 to 40 hours per week.

Job Specifications and Skills

  • Knowledge of hotel housekeeping procedures and quality standards.
  • Ability to plan workloads, coordinate employees and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to inspect work carefully and maintain consistent standards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound judgement and problem-solving abilities.
  • Guest-service focused with the ability to respond professionally to complaints or service concerns.
