This role is ideal for an experienced engineering professional who enjoys leading capital projects, driving continuous improvement, and optimizing manufacturing processes. You'll oversee projects from concept through implementation while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve productivity, efficiency, and equipment performance.

If you're passionate about project management, process optimization, and delivering measurable results in a manufacturing environment, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Lead capital expenditure (CapEx), process improvement, and continuous improvement projects from planning through implementation.

  • Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and technical specifications.

  • Coordinate engineering projects to ensure they are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

  • Design and implement manufacturing process improvements, automation solutions, and equipment modifications.

  • Develop conceptual designs, equipment layouts, engineering calculations, and technical documentation.

  • Prepare cost estimates and procurement specifications for equipment, materials, and services.

  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders throughout project execution.

  • Utilize ERP systems to plan, manage, and track project activities.

  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and communicate updates to leadership and project teams.

  • Support maintenance and operations teams by identifying root causes of equipment or process issues and implementing sustainable solutions.

  • Perform engineering studies and evaluate opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency, throughput, and reliability.

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, drawings, and engineering records.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, safety regulations, and organizational policies.

  • Stay current with emerging technologies, manufacturing best practices, and continuous improvement methodologies.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

  • 5–8 years of project engineering or project management experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience leading capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Experience with process automation and manufacturing systems.

  • Experience with Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) systems.

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or comparable CAD software.

  • Experience with ERP systems used for project planning and execution.

  • Experience in fibre manufacturing, fibre processing, or other continuous manufacturing environments is considered an asset.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment installation, and facility improvements.

  • Understanding of inventory management systems and manufacturing operations.

  • Knowledge of applicable engineering standards, safety regulations, and industry codes.

  • Strong analytical, technical, and root cause problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent project planning, budgeting, and organizational abilities.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to present technical information to a variety of audiences.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What Makes You Successful

  • Strong project leadership and organizational skills

  • Continuous improvement mindset

  • Strategic and analytical thinking

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Strong technical problem-solving abilities

  • High level of accountability and sound decision-making

  • Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence

Why Join This Opportunity?

This is an opportunity to lead meaningful engineering projects that improve manufacturing performance and operational efficiency. You'll have the opportunity to influence capital investments, implement innovative solutions, and collaborate with experienced engineering and operations professionals in a growing manufacturing environment.
