As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a Junior Process Engineer for our Edmonton office. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting process engineering activities for industrial projects.

Key responsibilities

Review project scope and requirements.
Prepare mass balances.
Develop and update Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
Assign line numbers and connection points.
Incorporate and coordinate comments from other disciplines.
Follow up on P&ID comments and prepare document revisions.
Prepare equipment and instrument datasheets.
Perform hydraulic calculations for pump and piping sizing.
Prepare process study files and supporting documentation.
Develop and maintain pipe and connection point lists.
Populate and manage process databases.
Coordinate activities with the mechanical and instrumentation teams.
Ensure proper document classification and document control.
Prepare reports required by the project.
Participate in projects involving fuel distribution terminals, refineries and other industrial facilities.
Support the development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), heat loss calculations and other engineering studies.
Work with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to provide status updates and resolve technical challenges.
Perform any other related duties as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related field.
0 to 3 years of relevant experience in process engineering, including internships or co-op placements.
Knowledge of process engineering principles and calculations.
Familiarity with Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs).
Ability to perform hydraulic calculations and technical analyses.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Self-starter, proactive and results-oriented.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
