Recreation Programmer
The Recreation Programmer plays an essential role in enhancing quality of life for residents in Perley Health's long‑term care home. This role involves designing, planning, and delivering meaningful individual and group activities that support residents' physical, social, emotional, and spiritual well‑being.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group recreational activities that support resident well‑being.
- Participate in planning, designing, developing, and delivering diverse recreation programs.
- Assess and provide feedback to ensure programs meet residents' physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs.
- Complete documentation using PointClickCare and ActivityPro.
- Foster a positive, resident‑centred environment and contribute to interdisciplinary teamwork.
Requirements
- 2‑year College Diploma in Recreation/Leisure Studies, Gerontology, or equivalent related experience.
- Previous experience working with individuals with dementia, ideally in a long‑term care setting.
- Current Food Handler's Certificate, can be obtained during employment.
- Strong communication skills in English; French is an asset.
