Job descriptionBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial automation programming. Solid knowledge of PLC languages (Allen Bradley, RX Logix 5000, 500, Siemens) and HMIs (RS Studio). Ability to create schematics, wiring, and layout drawings. Knowledge of electrical and control design, including power distribution, system studies, control systems, VFDs, PLC, DCS, HMI systems. Experience with wiring and electronics troubleshooting. Excellent English communication and presentation skills. Strong prioritization skills with minimal guidance. Experience with freezer control panels or similar protocols is a plus. Knowledge of UL, CSA, CE standards is an asset. Position Scope
The PLC Programmer is primarily responsible for designing industrial electrical systems for FPS machines. The role requires proficiency in automation programming from conceptualization through testing, analysis, and implementation.
The candidate must have a good working knowledge of PLC programming principles and troubleshooting techniques to balance company costs with customer value. The ideal candidate will have an Electrical Engineering background, excellent communication skills, and be open to new ideas and challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop PLC / HMI programs for various machines.
- Set up VFDs, servo, and instrument systems.
- Provide guidance to junior staff members.
- Lead small to mid-sized automation projects.
- Propose electrical engineering changes as needed.
