Job description

Title: Developer – IMS DB / COBOL
Location: Toronto, ON
Duration: 6 Months

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with IMS DB and COBOL expertise to support ongoing development and maintenance activities within a large enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience developing, enhancing, and troubleshooting mainframe applications with deep knowledge of COBOL and IMS DB technologies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

7 years of COBOL development experience
Strong IMS DB experience
Experience with JCL, CICS, DB2, and mainframe tools
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
Experience supporting enterprise applications
Prior work experience in the financial services industry is an asset

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

Financial services experience
Experience with additional mainframe tools and technologies
Strong communication and collaboration skills

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain COBOL applications within a mainframe environment
Perform IMS DB development, enhancements, and troubleshooting
Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
Support application maintenance, defect resolution, and production issues
Participate in testing, documentation, and release activities
Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders
