What is the opportunity?
You will play a key role in the risk assessment and continuous risk monitoring for RBC Capital Markets' trading clients globally.
What you will do?
- Lead a team of professionals responsible for continuous credit monitoring and risk assessment while maintaining sound risk management principles & supporting business growth.
- Drive collaboration within the PM&A function, with the Transaction Management team and with front office and functional partners.
- Identify and deliver efficiencies within the portfolio management function.
- Preparation of borrower / counterparty risk analysis and proposed internal ratings
- Undertake annual reviews on a timely basis and compliant with deadlines
- Understand and assess risks inherent in (i) the asset management industry and its regulation, (ii) the sponsors and the markets they operate in, (iii) products and (iv) investment strategies
- Other primary responsibilities that may arise from time to time in support of risk assessment and continuous monitoring.
What you need to succeed?
- Masters in business, finance, economics, or equivalent (CFA / CA / FRM
- At least 5 years financial work experience, preferably in trading credit and an understanding of credit risk
- Familiarity and sound understanding of trading products including FX, swaps and securities finance.
- Understanding and knowledge of fund industry and securities regulations governing funds
- Ability to interpret, explain and communicate opinions and recommendations using strong verbal and written skills
- Advanced data and computer management skills including proficiency with Excel.
- Problem solving skills. Technical Familiarity and basic understanding of I&TS and Capital Markets products including FX, swaps.
