Who we are

Elte is Toronto's source for considered design for all things home. For over 100 years, our family has worked with designers and craftspeople from idea to object, curating timeless pieces and the most distinct creations. Our sister brand, Mkt, is an independent design house creating pieces for a modern, edited home. We have three large showrooms within Toronto's Design District. In the Elte Showroom, you'll find Rugs and Carpeting, Furniture, Lighting, Mattresses, Linens, and Home Décor.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking a highly driven and results-oriented Sales Consultant to join our team at Elte. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in a commission-based, high-touch, relationship-driven sales environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences. This individual will play a key role in building strong relationships with designers, architects, and builders in the high-end residential space, acting as a trusted advisor and positioning Elte’s offerings as tailored solutions to meet their design needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales & Business Development :
  • Achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales targets through proactive outreach, networking, and creative lead generation.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with designers, architects, and builders.
  • Develop and execute personalized sales strategies aligned with Elte’s growth objectives.
  • Client Relationship Management :
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients, serving as their primary point of contact.
  • Assess client needs, address inquiries, and provide tailored recommendations for their projects.
  • Proactively engage with clients both in the showroom and on-site at their offices or project locations.
  • Showroom and Offsite Sales :
  • Spend up to 50% of time outside the showroom with clients, attending events, and networking.
  • Actively present Elte’s product assortment to small groups both inside and outside the showroom.
  • Maintain flexibility to work weekends as needed to meet business demands.
  • Strategic Planning & Reporting :
  • Organize and prioritize target accounts, develop personal sales plans, and utilize Salesforce to manage leads, track performance, and analyze sales activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing showroom space that embodies the Elte brand.

Key Requirements

  • Experience :
  • Minimum 5+ years of success in a commission-based, relationship-focused sales environment.
  • Consistently ranked among the top performers within their team.
  • Experience in a customer-facing, high-touch sales role is an asset.
  • Background in or passion for interior design or adjacent industries (e.g., furniture, luxury goods, or home décor).
  • Skills :
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to confidently present to small groups.
  • Exemplary relationship-building and networking skills, with the ability to influence decision-making and provide thoughtful solutions.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to assess client needs and deliver tailored recommendations.
  • Technical Proficiency :
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) to track performance and manage client relationships effectively.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities to balance showroom and offsite responsibilities.
  • Logistics :
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required; access to a reliable vehicle is an asset.
  • Availability to work weekends and adjust schedules based on business needs.
