Mercor is hiring Political Analysts on behalf of a leading AI Lab working to build models capable of understanding global politics, governance systems, and geopolitical reasoning. This is an opportunity to apply your political expertise to help train and evaluate AI systems designed to interpret political events, institutions, and policy decisions with depth and accuracy.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with AI researchers to train, evaluate, and refine AI models focused on political analysis, international relations, and policy interpretation.
Assess model outputs for accuracy, neutrality, and contextual understanding of political systems, ideologies, and global events.
Provide expert feedback on how AI models interpret political processes, governmental structures, and cross-border dynamics.
Design and review scenario-based evaluations to test the model’s understanding of diplomacy, elections, conflict, and policy outcomes.
Participate in synchronous collaboration sessions (4-hour windows, 2–3 times per week) to discuss evaluations, share domain insights, and help improve AI interpretive depth.
Requirements
Advanced degree or strong professional background in Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, or Area Studies .
Deep understanding of political theory, comparative politics, governance systems, and global policy frameworks .
Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative analysis methods used in political research.
Experience in policy analysis, risk assessment, or international relations is a strong plus.
Excellent analytical writing and reasoning skills, with the ability to critique arguments and narratives.
Commitment of 20–30 hours per week , including required synchronous collaboration sessions.
