Safety Manager – Nova Scotia

Are you passionate about ensuring the safety and well-being of employees in the workplace? Marwood Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Safety Manager to join our team and oversee health and safety initiatives across two Nova Scotia locations : Bedford and Brookfield!

Position Available : Safety Manager In this role, your contributions will be vital as you maintain and enhance our Health & Safety program for Nova Scotia Operations.

Collaborating closely with the Human Resources Manager and other key stakeholders, you will ensure compliance with safety regulations, conduct training sessions, and facilitate a culture of safety excellence across our sites.

Key Responsibilities :

• Oversee NS Operations’ health and safety program, focusing on policy enhancement, compliance, and risk reduction.
• Collaborate on the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs), support hazard inspections, and manage quick exposure checks (QECs).
• Develop safety content for meetings and support the JOHSC.
• Refine safety training and ensure implementation across all levels.
• Foster transparent communication between departments.
• Analyze data trends for safety improvements and procure supplies. Provide continual program support and consultation or involvement in operational and quality initiatives.

What You Bring to the Table :

We are looking for a candidate who holds a diploma or its equivalent in Occupational Health & Safety, with a preference for certification such as CRSP or CSP.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in coordinating health and safety initiatives within manufacturing or industrial environments.

They will possess a thorough understanding of pertinent safety regulations and standards. Additionally, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office is also required to excel in this role.
