About the Role
- Manage, supervise and support for Events Coordinators.
- Ensure staff meet project objectives and deadlines and provide necessary reporting information.
- Evaluating and determining event scope / requirements, developing project plans, engaging cross-functional teams and key stakeholders.
- Coordinating pre-assigned events and programs including on-site supervision of event execution and participation in set-up & take down of event elements.
- Develop and maintain detailed project management schedules.
- Prepare accounting reports (P&L statements), monitor and analyze financial data relating to Customer Events
- Support venue contracting and negotiating to get the best price for LCBO.
- Prepare and oversee preparation of correspondence, spreadsheets, and presentation materials.
- Partner with LCBO staff (e.g. Marketing & Customer Insights, Visual Merchandising, Customer Care, Pricing, etc.) to develop promotional material and other technical support.
- Manage and coordinate promotional and marketing materials (tasting booklets, signage, V-Mail, website, advertising, tickets, invitations, tent cards, brochures, menus, order forms etc.).
- Attend event venues prior to, during and after the event venue to provide direction, obtain information, determine logistics and to build relationships.
- Acting as a resource person for general inquires, both internal and external for Customer Events
- Researching suppliers, venues, and obtaining quotes for products and services.
- Proactively identify issues and recommend solutions.
- Troubleshoot sensitive or exceptional situations as they occur.
About You
- Demonstrated exceptional project management skills and marketing / event management knowledge.
- Experience with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle, along with a track record of delivering exceptional outcomes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Superior management skills including the ability to motivate and direct full time, part-time, seconded and external resources.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills including professionalism, tact and diplomacy and ability to deal with confidential issues.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, strong negotiation skills and the ability to take educated risks.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills with the ability to work in a fast paced, detail-oriented context with shifting priorities while still delivering to tight schedule and deadlines.
- Knowledge of hospitality industry and an excellent bank of suppliers, resources and contacts an asset.
- Product knowledge an asset.
- Ability to travel throughout the province with some overnight stays.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Adobe Acrobat.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or other related field, or equivalent work experience.
