About the Opportunity :
The Assistant Restaurant Manager will successfully direct and oversee all activities of the dining cabin and restaurant to ensure high-quality food and drinks, hospitable and efficient customer service, and profitable operations. The Assistant Restaurant Manager will personally contribute to the unforgettable guest experience, will be favorably viewed by supervisors and peers, and will be swift and efficient in the execution of their assigned duties. Performance will be measured by guest satisfaction scores, departmental tests, management evaluation, and feedback from peers on the City Cruises’ team.

Customer Service :
Provides exceptional hospitality to guests and shipmates as prescribed in RESPECT Service SystemRotates as shift manager and ensures adherence to cruise scripts, supervision of staff, quality meal service and entertainmentGathers necessary information from other departments to ensure guest satisfaction (special requests, additional services, special timing, etc.)Conducts daily stand-up briefing and communicates to employee all necessary information regarding the cruise (seating charts, special bar packages, boarding procedures)Maintains highest standards of safety for customers and staffMaintains highest standards of sanitation in accordance with local regulation and corporate guidelineDevelops and executes programs that improve the level of service and product qualityLeadership and Teamwork :
Leads by example; maintains highest level of professionalism, integrity, and sound work habitsDevelops strong teamwork within the crewAssists in training, and development of all restaurant shipmatesWork with staff on all preparatory work prior to starting and finishing of the eventResponsible for staffing levelFill server / event crew role when a server / event crew / bartender is not available and provide service to the guest Prepare alcoholic & non- alcoholic requisition form for next cruise / eventArranges services for special eventsHelps execute shipmate incentive programsMaintains good relationship with other departments (marine, sales, and administration)Administration :
Attends all scheduled meetingsAssists Restaurant Manager with weekly inventory and ordering product supplies for Harbour Tour boat (Oriole & Showboat)Prepare liquor, wine & beer ordering sheet at least one day before the eventOperates all restaurant systems (point of sale, inventory / purchasing system, reservations system)Reconciles onboard cash and credit sales with the point-of-sale systemReviews timecards for each shift to ensure accuracyCompletes any other duties as assigned by the Director of Food & Beverage or the Food & Beverage ManagerBe prepared to begin work at scheduled timeMaintain uniform and personal grooming in compliance with appearance standardsRequirements & Qualifications :
Minimum of two (2) years restaurant supervision experiencePrefer bachelor’s degree with 1-2 years additional experience. Hospitality or Culinary degreeSmart Serve Certificate requiredFood Handler’s Certificate requiredWill be required to be available for work on all major holidaysMathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) necessary to interpret reports and budgetsMust be able to : Successfully manage front-line restaurant staffCommunicate effectively in oral and written formTrain, develop and motivate staffAnalyze and solve problemsAbility to read, write, and speak English to comprehend and communicate job functionsDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities / tasksEstablish and maintain effective working relationships as required by job responsibilityProvide advice / opinion and exercise discretion concerning confidential and sensitive mattersListen effectively, assesses the situation, determine relevant issues, identify solutions and gain consensusSet aside emotional factors and / or validate them in order to discover key / relevant issuesModerate computer skills are essential; will frequently work with Microsoft office products as well as point of sale system and web-based applicationsMust be able to work all shifts including days, weekends and holidaysAbility to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push, pull, move or lift.
