Intermediate Field Support Technician with Desktop, Network and Mobility experience to support both in-person and remote end-users at an onsite camp, working a 14 days on / 14 days off rotation
The Service Technician is responsible for providing different services, such as diagnosing problems, making repairs, and / or replacing parts on-site to windows and doors.
Correct manufacturing defects on site, using appropriate tools for service completion.
Conduct water & / or air infiltration tests and remedy where possible while on site.
Conduct inspections of installed products to confirm claims of defect, reporting findings to the Service manager.
Assess if issues reported are caused by manufacturing defects or a result of improper installation, and correct manufacturing defects.
Take pictures and measurements of the product on-site for reports to the Service Manager.
Obtain sign-off from the homeowner at the conclusion of the service call.
Complete service reports at the conclusion of all calls and provide reports to Service Manager on a weekly basis.
Inspect and load all products required for service calls according to the service schedule.
Unload and distribute materials at the end of each service schedule according to instructions from the Service Manager / Plant Manager
Ensure the service vehicle is well maintained and in good working order, and GPS is active while on duty.
Drive in accordance with the Highway & Traffic Act (Ontario) and according to posted speed limits.
Regular overnight trips required to either Ottawa and / or Windsor area.
Qualifications
2 – 4 years experience as a service technician in door and window industry.
Excellent customer service and communication skills
