INVISTA Canada's Specialty Intermediates manufacturing site located in Maitland, Ontario has an immediate opening for a Lab & Quality Leader.

As a Lab & Quality Leader at INVISTA, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a collaborative work environment that promotes open communication, swift resolution of issues, and a high-performance culture.

Your leadership will be instrumental in guiding dedicated and knowledgeable team members towards excellence in product quality and environmental sampling, testing and reporting, ensuring adherence to all, ISO, Process Safety Management (PSM) and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations.

What You Will Do

  • Take full ownership of lab area by monitoring, measuring, auditing and reporting on critical manufacturing aspects such as EHS, production, quality and housekeeping
  • Lead our Site Quality Team including in all aspects of supervision including the recruitment and development of team members
  • Drive compliance with quality systems at the Maitland site
  • Drive a positive work setting, with a strong culture of teamwork across all groups
  • Ensure an environment that allows open reporting and prompt follow-up and resolution to employee concerns
  • Work closely with other leaders to ensure effective transitions between teams and shifts
  • Ensure direct reports develop the skills required to identify root cause and take effective actions to resolve operating problems.

Identify performance gaps and build improvement plans to enhance skill and capabilities within your team

Set performance goals that align with the company’s Vision

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Background applying Chemistry, Chemical Sciences, and / or Laboratory Operations
  • Experience working in a Lab setting
  • Experience leading / supervising teams
  • Experience with statistical data analysis and / or the application of problem-solving methodology (root cause, 5-why, etc.)
  • Application of safety and quality standards

What Will Put You Ahead

  • IT and lab software experience
  • Experience in maintaining ISO programs and requirements (or similar quality systems)
  • Environmental / regulatory experience
  • Degree or Diploma in a STEM related discipline
