Executive Director, Community Programs and Services Community Programs and Services Department ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking an Executive Director, Community Programs and Services to join the FMFN Team! Fort McKay is a progressive First Nation in search of an innovative Executive Director who will lead the Community Programs and Services Division in its strategic priorities and towards its long-term vision.

The role will support Directors in establishing, achieving, and maintaining the goals and objectives of the respective directorate, ensuring that FMFN’s community programs and services, in areas including education, health and senior services, community services and protective services, are operating efficiently and effectively.

This is a permanent full-time salaried position reporting directly to the CEO and is based on seventy-five (75) hours bi-weekly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Provide inspirational leadership and strategic direction to ensure the continued development and management of high-quality community program and service offerings.

Support the development of guidelines, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent, fair, and equitable programs and services to members of FMFN.

Cultivate a strong and transparent working relationship with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief and Council and leaders, and e nsure they are kept apprised of key performance outcomes, risks and recommendations for changes, program and service delivery growth, budget adjustments and the need for policy establishment and / or amendments.

Establish effective decision-making processes that will enable FMFN to achieve its long-term and short-term goals and objectives.

Support Directors in sound financial management. O versee the financial status of the division’s long-term and short-term financial plans, monitoring the budget, and ensuring sound financial controls are in place.

Support the strategic organizational planning process for the betterment of FMFN. Lead in continuing to build a diverse and inclusive organization.

Support and motivate FMFN staff, creating and promoting a positive work environment. Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration and strengthen internal communications with staff throughout the organization.

Other related duties as required. KEY REQUIREMENTS A Degree in a related field. A master’s degree or related professional designation is an asset.

Fifteen years of well-rounded and progressive experience in a related field with a senior leadership level background, including a minimum of 10 years of management and leadership experience.

E xperience to include organization management with focus on providing strategic support, staff mentorship and coaching, and managing several community service and programming disciplines.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Financially and politically astute leader with the ability to envision, set clear strategic priorities, inspire, delegate and guide investment in people, infrastructure, and systems.

Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with leaders, employees, and external stakeholders.

Sound knowledge of business or public administration, and the goals and objectives of the organization. Knowledge of applicable processes, service delivery models, best practices, legislation, and regulations relating to division’s disciplines.

Ability to speak, read and write Cree and / or Dene is considered an asset. Ability to supply a clear criminal record check Experience working in a First Nations community including knowledge of First Nations culture, traditions and values is an asset Valid class 5 Driver’s License & Clean Driver’s Abstract Required Some travel is required for this position.
