Jr. Assistant Produce Manager

Overview :

To assist in the efficient functioning of the department, providing customers with the best quality of produce and customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Ensuring exceptional customer service is provided in a courteous manner to maintain our reputation for friendly, effective, and personalized experience.
• To assist in the directing and supervising of all produce staff to secure efficient and courteous customer service;
• To assist in the set-up of the department by assisting in the effective merchandising of produce through attractive and appealing displays, occasionally assisting in the creation of effective planograms;
• To write and receive produce orders, check invoices, unload and distribute merchandise accordingly;
• To fill, rotate and maintain displays ensuring the quality of produce meets company standards;
• To assist in the training of new staff;
• To solve any customer / employee complaints or problems while left in charge of the department;
• To perform other duties, as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate Would Possess :

• Exceptional customer service skills
• The ideal candidate must possess a minimum of 3 years’ produce experience in a retail produce environment, with good knowledge of greens, fresh fruits, the salad bar, and bulk foods
• Previous management experience a definite asset;
• Flexibility to work a variety of hours including days, evenings and weekends;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure;
• Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
