Position Overview :
Responsible for planning and completion of general maintenance functions, coordination with outside contractors and waste water treatment facility.
What You Will Do :
- Performs inspections and preventive maintenance in accordance with Standard Plant Procedures (SPP’s) and other prescribed requirements.
- Performs maintenance actions on plant equipment, HVAC, water and drainage systems, roof condition test equipment and fabrication equipment as necessary.
- Under the direction of a qualified electrician performs light electrical maintenance duties such as bulb and ballast replacement, simple circuit faults and installation of extension circuits.
- Responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of the maintenance shop, storage area, carpenter / woodworking shop, furnace room, water pump station area and all other utility areas in and outside of the plant but on plant premises.
- Ability to read blue prints for building form boards.
- Fabrication of form boards, including marking, painting and identification requirements as well as installation of mating connectors.
- Responsible for storage and return to service of all form boards.
- Completes light carpentry, metalwork and painting on facility infrastructure, furniture shelving and racking as well as storage area organization.
- Fabrication of all required wooden shipping containers and crates.
- Perform monthly and annual preventative maintenance tasks on the waste water treatment facility and compliant with Department of the Environment requirements.
- Maintains electronic logbooks for Maintenance Job Requests, Periodic Inspection Logs and other activity logs as required in the performance of maintenance activities.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area by removal of all debris and material following maintenance activity.
- Assist other members of maintenance trades as required.
What You Will Bring :
- High School Certificate or equivalent education / experience.
- Familiar with use of equipment such as table saw, drill press, radial arm saw, hand power tools, brazing equipment, electronic multimeters and test equipment.
- Must be capable of building durable shipping crates without designs.
- Must be capable of performing light carpentry and electrical duties.
- Must have excellent troubleshooting capabilities.
- Familiarity with computers is required.
- Previous experience in a general maintenance environment is considered an asset.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision, ability to work with urgency, supervise contractors and other maintenance trades people when required.
- Organized, good work ethic and ability to set priorities.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies.
- Continually focusing on your individual safety and the safety of others who may be affected by your work and to fully comply with all Federal Health and Safety Legislation.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 5S activities in your area.
- Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian Government Security Clearances.
