Its media app theScore’ is one of the most popular in North America, delivering fans highly personalized live scores, news, stats, and betting information from their favorite teams, leagues, and players.

theScore’s sports betting app theScore Bet Sportsbook & Casino’ delivers an immersive and holistic mobile sports betting and iCasino experience.

theScore Bet is currently live in the Company's home province of Ontario. theScore also creates and distributes innovative digital content through its web, social and esports platforms.

About the team

As part of the Sportsbook Core team, you will be working alongside smart, friendly, and dedicated Engineers and Product Managers.

Our mission is to build and maintain the internal services that power theScore Bet platform. The Sportsbook Core team builds the gateway into theScore’s internal betting ecosystem, offering mobile and web applications everything they need to power theScore Bet.

This includes server driven Betslips, fully customizable betting marketplaces, account details and more. We are responsible for the ingestion and distribution of thousands of betting updates every second in real time to empower the user to place bets at the best possible odds.

We also manage the full lifecycle of a bet from placement to settlement, respecting a user’s responsible gaming limits while also financially adjusting accounts as quickly as possible to ensure the best user experience.

About the work

As a Senior Technical Product Manager on the Core Services Team you will :

Typical Work Day at theScore :

  • Lead the full product & platform lifecycle from ideation, design, requirements definition, through to delivery collaborating with teams across the organization.
  • Drive large and complex technical initiatives across teams of world-class developers.
  • Lead day-to-day operations of the team, using tools like JIRA and Confluence.
  • Deliver value to the product development teams through internal tooling, education, and documentation.
  • Coordinate release cycle of internal tools and manage cross team dependencies.

About You

  • 5-8+ years of experience in product management in a technical environment.
  • Background in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or related technical field.
  • Have an understanding of the various components in a backend system, including microservices, databases, and messaging systems.
  • Experience communicating to both engineering and business stakeholders, and across diverse cultures, work styles, and personalities.
  • Experience creating technical diagrams, authoring technical requirements and product roadmaps.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to present work to executive staff.
  • Outstanding written / oral, organizational, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to predict challenges and seek to proactively head-off obstacles.
  • Must be a self-starter, a team player, and able to operate autonomously.

Nice to haves :

  • Previous start-up, consumer mobile and / or consulting experience is a strong asset.
  • Experience with Cloud platforms (Google, AWS) and monitoring tools like DataDog, Splunk, and Prometheus.
  • Hands on experience with programming or server management.
