The Role
In keeping with our core beliefs, our client ( ICI General Contractor) is looking for an experienced HR Manager, to join our team and enhance the employment experience while keeping up to date on legislation & requirements.
We are looking for someone who can continue to uphold our great culture, and excel in a vibrant, well-organized environment, keep us up to date, incorporate and implement changes as they occur.
This individual will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless communication for all staff, well documented employment records, Government compliance, employment benefits and support all staff throughout various stages of their careers.
Because of your solid, wide ranging HR experience, critical thinking, and good judgement, you will be relied upon to coach and consult with Senior Management on a variety of HR issues as needs arise.
The selected individual will be reporting to the Director and Controller.
Responsibilities include :
Managing the company’s overall function of the Human Resources Department.
keeping up to date records for all employee contracts and files
Managing the WSIB administrator portal including any related claims.
Managing the Government ROE web portal for any Record of Employment submissions.
Completing unionized remittances and ensuring contract compliance.
Maintaining all Employee records up to date.
Administrator of the company health& benefits program, orientation for new employees, and keeping employee records and policy review current.
Managing the employee annual review process.
Conduct job fairs with local colleges and universities
Ensuring we are up to date with Government Compliance & legislation.
Working with internal department members to develop, participate, and comply with changing government policies and programs.
Find efficiencies within our company
Assist in coordinating team building events to improve overall company moral
Align our organization with our clients goals
work towards our company becoming a 50 Best Managed organization
Job Requirements :
Minimum 5 years of direct work experience in a Manager role (CHRP or CHRL designations preferred).
Payroll experience is welcome but not a requirement.
Highly organized, detailed orientated, and able to multi-task and excellent project administration and management skills.
Excellent people and relationship skills
Strong analytical abilities and computer literacy including use of email software, Microsoft Office products
Ability to multi-task, set appropriate priorities and amend those priorities on the fly if needed.
Meet deadlines.
Experience working with Union and non-union employees.
Good Communicator, flexible, with a positive attitude.
