Competition #2024-493-CC Supervisor, Supportive Housing Programs (2024-493-CC) Employment Type : Permanent Full-Time, (Non)-Bargaining Unit Work Hours : 35 hours / week, Mon – Fri 9am-5pm Work Setting : Onsite; 650 Queen St E Hourly Rate Range : $65, 000 - $70,000 Application Deadline : December 27, 2024 by 11.59pm Program Overview – Supportive Housing, Community Supports and Outreach Program The WoodGreen Community Supports and Outreach program serves clients 18 years old and older with mental health challenges and addictions who have experienced homelessness. This holistic program also offers community case management supports, community development with recreational programming, and hoarding and pest management. The clients live in four WoodGreen owned small-scale apartment buildings, as well as scattered independent units throughout the City of Toronto. What You Will Do Supports the Manager with implementing the operational responsibilities of programs, services, and initiatives associated with the Community and Support’s & Outreach portfolio These includes four Woodgreen owned small scale apartment buildings, as well as 36 independent units across the City of Toronto Provides daily oversight of program staff and supports with orientation of staff and completion Works directly with the program participants to ensure they are meeting program expectations Provides support to staff regarding program issues, team building, and crises incidents through individual meetings with staff and participation in team meetings. Supports the effective utilization, training, and support of volunteers and students throughout the various programming activities. Supports the Manager with the planning and implementation of staff development. Supports the promotion / awareness building of the programs and their services to the immediate and broader community. Supports the Manager in building and maintaining internal and external partnerships and collaborative activities. Supports in the development of and implements program initiatives, such as food access, peer involvement, and social and recreational and life skills programming. Supports staff with the development and execution of Coordinated Care Plans and Case Plans for clients Supports in the development of common strategies to address tenancy and building issues as they arise. Supports WoodGreen Housing and Building Services with property management at the Supportive Housing Program Supports the Housing Unit with tenancy issues at the Supportive Housing site, including pest control, hoarding, arrears, inspections, notices and work orders. Supports the Manager with the implementation of program / operational protocols. Supports the Manager with the implementation of organizational policies and procedures being carried out within all programs areas and services. Supports the Manager with the implementation of data tracking systems and reporting tools and completion of reports. Ensures that the equity objectives and community development policies of the organization are followed within the programs. Engages in training and education to upgrade skills as directed by WoodGreen to fulfill the responsibilities of the position. Supervisor of Supportive Housing under the Community Supports and Outreach portfolio requires travel across the City of Toronto to perform their day-to-day duties Be prepared to work in environments where they might be pest control and hoarding issues Be prepared to work in environments where there may be death and dying Be prepared to work in environments where there may be drug use and smoke What You Bring to the Team Bachelor's degree in social work and equivalent experience Minimum 3 years’ experience : implementing programs; working with homeless and vulnerably housed individuals; experience with older adults and seniors; supervising staff, preferably in a unionized environment; knowledge of RTA and occupancy agreements, and property management. Thorough understanding of homelessness, poverty, mental health and substance use, and a proven ability to develop effective services for individuals and communities facing these challenges. Ability to exercise excellent judgment, flexibility, creativity, and sensitivity to changing situations and needs. Proven ability to challenge organizations, staff and tenant communities in a positive and create way to effect better service. Knowledge of budgets and funding.
