Job description

Role: Data Engineer Location: Fully Remote - EST Time Zone - In Canada Comp: Salary + Bonus + Health Benefits Why Veem?

Veem is transforming how businesses move money globally.

Traditional cross-border payments are slow, expensive, and opaque—we’re changing that by building a seamless, transparent, and scalable platform that empowers businesses to pay and get paid anywhere in the world.

Our platform combines global payments, FX optimization, and embedded financial solutions to help partners and their customers unlock new growth opportunities.

From SMBs to large platforms, companies rely on Veem to simplify operations and expand internationally with confidence.

But what truly sets Veem apart is our partner-first approach .

We don’t just provide payments infrastructure—we collaborate closely with partners to drive mutual growth, unlock revenue streams, and deliver real business impact.

What makes Veem special Real impact: You’ll help businesses scale globally and move billions in payments more efficiently High-growth environment: Backed by strong momentum in fintech and embedded finance Ownership & autonomy: Make meaningful contributions and see your impact quickly Collaborative culture: Work cross-functionally with Product, Sales, and Operations Innovation-driven: Be part of shaping the future of global B2B payments At Veem, you’re not just joining a fintech company—you’re helping redefine the future of global commerce.

  • Role Overview We’re looking for a technically strong Data Engineer to help alleviate a capacity bottleneck within a small, high-impact data team.

This is not a greenfield build role—the core data infrastructure is already in place and functioning.

Instead, the focus is on maintaining, optimizing, and incrementally improving existing systems.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working on the backend of data systems, is detail-oriented, and can quickly take ownership of ongoing data operations with minimal direction.

Key Responsibilities Maintain and optimize existing data pipelines and infrastructure within Snowflake Troubleshoot and resolve issues with data pipelines and reporting systems Build and update reports (e.g., compliance, partner billing) using Looker Develop and refine SQL queries and Python scripts to support data workflows Create and maintain specific data views based on internal requests Ensure data accuracy, reliability, and performance across systems Collaborate closely with the existing data engineer to support continuity and improvements Tech Stack Data Warehouse: Snowflake BI / Reporting: Looker Languages: Python, SQL Team & Reporting Structure Small, collaborative data team Individual contributor role (no direct reports) Ideal Candidate Profile 1–4 years of experience in a data engineering or similar role Strong proficiency in SQL and Python Hands on experience with the required technologies (Snowflake, Looker) Comfortable working in a maintenance and optimization-focused environment Able to quickly understand existing systems and contribute with minimal ramp-up Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills Motivated to grow into increased ownership over time Powered by JazzHR
