We are seeking an Engineering Supervisor for a well established Manufacturing and fabrication client of ours. Our client is an industry leader that is growing and are looking to add to their team.
In this position you will lead the design and development team with a focus on new product development.

Responsibilities
- Oversee a team of drafters and junior engineers in daily operations, including the design and creation of steel-fabricated products such as wear piping and structural steel.
- Ensure all designs adhere to relevant standards and codes (ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, CSA S16, CSA W59, Customer Specifications) before fabrication, and validate Professional Work
Products as a licensed professional.
- Review and verify the bill of materials and drawings for custom parts, including flanges, Victaulic fittings, and other custom components, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure timely issuance and proper control of all drawing packages for manufacturing.
- Perform engineering design calculations for pipes, flanges, custom fittings, and lugs.
- Approve and stamp all shop fabrication drawings.
- Manage and update the Professional Practice Management Plan (PPMP) in compliance with APEGA requirements.
- Possess a strong background in designing welded and machined assemblies, with knowledge of casting processes.
- Troubleshooting - Determining causes of operating assembly errors and proposing solutions.
- Active Learning - Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University in mechanical engineering, and registered as licensed Professional Engineer with APEGA in Alberta
- Minimum 4 active years of professional experience with steel fabrication, and the design of pressure piping to ABSA B31.1 & B31.3
- Knowledge and experince working with Inventor and Tekla software
- Oilsands experience with wear products, structural steel is considered an asset.
- Excellent organizational, communication and computer skills
- Strategically engage in client discussions, both on the phone and in person
- Report deficiencies and job problems to senior management
- Perform other duties as required
