Controller

Our client is seeking a Controller to lead core financial reporting and oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations across multiple legal entities within a dynamic, operationally complex environment. This role provides financial leadership, ensures accurate and timely reporting, and partners closely with cross‑functional teams to support business objectives. The ideal candidate will bring a proven controllership experience, and a strong background in operational finance.

Your success will be defined by your ability to:

Manage the monthly financial close process and deliver accurate, timely financial reporting packages
Prepare and review variance analysis, reforecasting, and cash‑flow forecasts to support decision‑making
Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations including general ledger, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and treasury activities
Support the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial planning initiatives
Maintain corporate compliance and coordinate external audits and regulatory reporting requirements
Partner with operations and business teams to align financial processes with operational objectives
Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting workflows
Lead, coach, and develop a team of accountants through clear priorities, performance management, and regular feedback
Foster a culture of accountability, adaptability, and continuous improvement across the finance function

Your strengths include:

CPA designation in good standing
5+ years of post‑designation accounting experience
3+ years in a Controller or senior controllership role
3+ years of people management experience
Strong technical accounting knowledge and advanced Excel skills
Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Business Central, SAP, or JD Edwards
Background in logistics, transportation, operations, or other environments requiring operational finance, job costing, and margin analysis
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
A proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and follow‑through
Ability to adapt, collaborate, and lead effectively in evolving business environments
