Description
Who we need The Technology Project Manager will be accountable for leading teams to deliver project(s) that span across one or more business units.
You will effectively manage project resources, schedules, financials and adhere to established controls and guidelines of project lifecycle to ensure successful and on-time project delivery.
You will also contribute to process improvement initiatives and continuous learning opportunities as it relates to improving project delivery.
What you will do
- Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business;
- Provide leadership for internal and external project teams, motivating team members to meet project goals, and holding all stakeholders accountable to projects timelines and milestones;
- Ensure results are delivered in alignment with the service model and provide value to our partners;
- Own full project including project planning, budget development, resource management, reporting and closure;
- Resolve effectively issues and conflicts to support project deliverables;
- Work closely with project sponsors, cross-functional teams, and assigned project leads to develop the scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for new initiatives;
- Build and maintain relationships by engaging business leaders and stakeholders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus, and achieve objectives;
- Understand interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs and apply within context of project work;
- Demonstrate a functional acumen to support how technology solutions will address client goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices;
- Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools to expand and mature PM capabilities for the organization;
- Ensure continuous improvement of the PMO framework to meet quality standards while applying lessons learned and industry best practices within projects;
- Build strong partnerships and working relationships with stakeholders to influence successful outcome of initiatives;
- Collaborate on ongoing professional development to enhance technical skills and business knowledge.
What you will bring
The education and the experience. 7+ years project management experience in IT, Financial services, or Insurance industry.
Post-secondary training in a technical or business discipline or equivalent work experience. PMP Certification, PMI-ACP Certification would be considered as an asset, as well as an experience in SDLC Methodologies.
The skills. A demonstrated leadership with internal and client facing projects. Proven ability to work creatively and analytically demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence.
A strong command and control on holding people accountable and driving results. Advanced capabilities with productivity tools including MS Office (documentation, presentations, reporting / modeling spreadsheets, and resource management) and SharePoint (collaboration, information management).
The drive. Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands. Strong leadership qualities and interpersonal / communication skills, independent problem-solving initiative and approach towards task and time management.
