Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your networking and telecommunications expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside innovative, collaborative, and dedicated teammates.
You'll play a central role in reducing the carbon footprint of Canada’s busiest public transit system. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (design, engineering, and commissioning), design and deploy network and telecom solutions, and ensure alignment with project objectives, milestones, and quality standards.
You’ll specifically take care of creating and maintaining technical documentation, such as System Functional Specifications and Architecture Design Descriptions, but also perform network maintenance, troubleshooting, and support field activities.
We’ll look to you for:
Designing and deploying networks and virtual solutions based on system requirements
Creating and maintaining system documentation, including Interface Control Documents
Performing capacity analysis for Communication Networks
Using traffic generator and network management tools to meet performance, management, and monitoring objectives
Participating in radio and network design, implementation, and test activities
Supporting installation, test, commissioning, and maintenance activities both remotely and in the field
All about you
We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience in networking or telecommunications
5-15 years of experience in a related field
P. Eng certification or in progress
Knowledge of network hardware, including servers, routers, and other computer devices
Understanding of TCP/IP and LAN/WAN
Experience with network security, policies, and routing protocols (, IP or SR MPLS)
Hands-on experience with IPsec, VPNs, and firewalls
Familiarity with Kubernetes and GIS platforms is a plus
CCNP/CCDE/CCIE certifications are desirable
Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:
Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines
Work with new security standards for rail signalling
Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues
Contribute to innovative projects that transform the Greater Toronto and Hamilton areas
Utilise our inclusive and flexible working environment
Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries
Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning
Progress towards leadership or technical specialist roles
Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)
