SEEKING a visionary leader in Surety, ready to report directly to the President and drive the next phase of the firm's success

We're looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial VP, Surety, to take command of our practice's strategy, expansion, and elite client relationships. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for a seasoned professional who excels at both strategic market development and providing unparalleled service to our most important accounts.

NOT JUST ANOTHER "MANAGEMENT ROLE"

This isn't just a management position; it's a chance to be the architect of our Surety future. You will be empowered to set the strategic direction, cultivate deep market partnerships, and serve as the ultimate subject matter expert for one of the industry's most respected firms. Sounds pretty great right!

Your Mission: Strategy, Service, and Growth

Reporting directly to the President, you will lead the overall strategy and growth of the Surety practice. Your responsibilities will centre on four key pillars:

I. Strategic Leadership & Business Development

  • Drive Growth: Develop and execute an ambitious business development strategy, selectively targeting new, high-value opportunities.

  • Executive Insight: Liaise with senior leadership and advise broker partners within the broader Navacord organization.

II. Elite Client & Market Stewardship

  • Client Champion: Provide elite-level customer service and manage the day-to-day needs of a select, important account portfolio.

  • Relationship Architect: Cultivate and manage corporate relationships with our key bonding company partners and represent the company professionally at industry events and associations.

  • Innovative Solutions: Develop and provide innovative solutions that meet complex customer requirements.

III. Subject Matter Expertise

  • Surety Authority: Act as the subject matter expert for the Surety Bonding practice, providing authoritative guidance.

  • Team Support: Support our Surety Advisors in client underwriting and prospecting meetings as required.

IV. Collaboration

  • Collaborate effectively and professionally with internal teams across both the surety and insurance departments.

What You Bring: The Essential Requirements

We are seeking a proven leader with deep industry tenure and specialized expertise:

  • Experience is Key: A minimum of 10 years of hands-on Surety underwriting or brokerage experience, on Commercial Construction side of Surety, combined with some contract.
  • Financial Acumen: Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills, specifically demonstrated expertise in financial analysis.
  • Exceptional Communication: An exceptional communicator, both written and oral, with strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Strategic Influence: Proven ability to influence others in a co-operative manner to achieve goals.
  • Execution Style: Highly effective working both autonomously and collaboratively in a group environment.

Designations (A strong asset, but not required):

Designations such as CA, RIBO, ACSB, CAIB, and CIP are highly valued and well-received.

Let your leadership shine for a heavy construction and surety-based brokerage located in North York.

It would be an honour as your recruitment representative to secure an interview for you with this excellent and highly growth-driven brokerage. Please review the required experience, as candidates will be carefully selected based on construction surety experience.

Thank you for your interest.
