Adecco is currently hiring an
Software Developer (Linux/Android) for a full-time contract opportunity in
Burnaby, BC. This role is ideal for an experienced software developer with a strong background in Linux, Android, and embedded systems who enjoys building high-performance software, developing automated testing solutions, and optimizing system performance.
In this position, you will develop, integrate, and debug Linux and Android media software while collaborating with development teams to enhance software quality, reliability, and performance.
- Pay Rate: $55.00/hour
- Location: Burnaby, BC
- Schedule: Monday - Friday
- Employment Type: Full-Time | Temporary
Responsibilities- Develop, integrate, and debug Linux and Android media software, including graphics, camera, kernel drivers, and framework software.
- Develop internal automated testing solutions for both user-mode and kernel-mode code to support quality assurance initiatives.
- Design, develop, and debug diagnostic tools for internal development teams.
- Evaluate, analyze, and improve software performance across embedded platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to troubleshoot complex software issues.
- Optimize software architecture, system design, and performance to meet product requirements.
- Support the development of reliable, scalable, and maintainable embedded software solutions.
- Contribute to software quality through testing, debugging, and continuous improvement.
- Document development processes, testing procedures, and technical solutions.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in embedded software development.
Qualifications- Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience developing large-scale C++ embedded systems.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python.
- Experience applying software design patterns effectively.
- Ability to balance system architecture, software design, and performance trade-offs.
- Experience with computer architecture, parallel programming, asynchronous programming, and performance analysis.
- Strong understanding of Android and Linux system fundamentals.
- Knowledge of operating system internals, including Linux, RTOS, multithreading, virtual memory, DMA, caching, and performance tuning.
- Deep understanding of memory management concepts.
- Experience developing drivers or Hardware Abstraction Layers (HAL).
- Familiarity with graphics and camera technologies.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
