Job description

We are looking for an experienced Lab Supervisor to join our Product Development & Automation Group and lead our Assembly Lab, where Optical Lens Coating and Cleaning Machines are built, tested, and prepared for customers around the world.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys leading people while staying actively involved in the work.

You'll oversee daily assembly operations, support and develop your team, solve technical challenges, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

What You'll Do Lead, coach, and support the assembly team to achieve daily production goals.

Plan, prioritize, and coordinate assembly activities to meet production schedules and customer delivery commitments.

Provide hands-on technical support with equipment assembly, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.

Monitor workflow, staffing, and production progress, adjusting priorities as needed to maximize productivity.

Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.

Coordinate with Engineering, Purchasing, Stockroom, Project Management, and other departments to ensure materials and resources are available.

Oversee equipment testing, inspection, and final build readiness before shipment.

Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment while enforcing health and safety standards.

Track production performance, quality metrics, and KPIs, implementing corrective actions when necessary.

Develop team members through coaching, training, mentoring, and performance feedback.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, productivity, and standardized work practices.

Maintain accurate production records and communicate project status and operational updates to management.

What We're Looking For Education & Experience Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience in industrial automation, manufacturing, or a related field.

Experience in mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly within a manufacturing environment.

Previous leadership, supervisory, or team coordination experience in a production setting.

Strong understanding of assembly processes, technical drawings, and troubleshooting practices.
