MatchBox is urgently seeing a Senior QA Analyst for a 13-month contract role for our New Westminster based public sector client. This is a hybrid role 2 days on site and 3 days remote.

Senior QA Analyst
Location: New Westminster, BC (Hybrid)
Contract: 13 month initial term
Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior QA Analyst to support the delivery of a large-scale enterprise application implementation. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of quality assurance, including test strategy, test planning, manual and automated testing, defect management, production readiness, and stakeholder collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
This role requires strong experience with enterprise application testing, system integrations, API testing, automation frameworks, and Agile delivery methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance Planning

  • Develop and maintain the overall QA strategy, testing approach, and project test plans.
  • Review business requirements, functional specifications, technical documentation, and user stories to ensure complete test coverage.
  • Design and maintain comprehensive test cases, test scenarios, test scripts, and requirements traceability matrices (RTMs).
  • Identify opportunities for test automation and develop reusable automated test suites to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
Functional & Integration Testing
  • Execute manual and automated functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, performance, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Develop and maintain automated tests for APIs, system integrations, and key business processes.
  • Validate integrations between enterprise applications and third-party systems.
  • Verify data migration, data synchronization, reporting, notifications, interfaces, and API functionality.
  • Support production deployments through deployment validation and post-implementation verification activities.
Defect Management & Reporting
  • Log, prioritize, manage, and track defects through to resolution.
  • Work closely with developers, business analysts, and business stakeholders to investigate issues and validate fixes.
  • Monitor testing progress and provide regular QA status updates and reporting.
  • Identify quality risks and recommend mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
Production Readiness
  • Support System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), operational readiness, deployment, and post-production support.
  • Prepare QA sign-off recommendations for production releases.
  • Participate in project workshops, demonstrations, stakeholder meetings, and solution reviews.
  • Contribute to knowledge transfer activities and operational support documentation.
Deliverables
The successful consultant will be responsible for producing standard QA documentation, including but not limited to:
  • QA Strategy and Test Strategy
  • Project Test Plans
  • Functional, Integration, Regression, Performance, End-to-End, and UAT test plans
  • Test cases, test scripts, test scenarios, and Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs)
  • Automated test frameworks and reusable automated test suites
  • API and integration test scripts
  • Test execution results and QA status reports
  • Test coverage metrics
  • Defect logs and issue tracking reports
  • Integration testing and interface validation documentation
  • Data migration validation results
  • Performance and load testing results (where applicable)
  • Production readiness assessments and QA sign-off recommendations
  • Deployment validation and post-implementation verification documentation
  • Knowledge transfer documentation
  • Technical presentations and stakeholder review materials
  • Project status reports, meeting minutes, and related project documentation
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or software testing within enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated experience developing QA strategies, test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts.
  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks and reusable automated test suites.
  • Strong experience executing manual and automated:
    • Functional Testing
    • Integration Testing
    • Regression Testing
    • End-to-End Testing
    • Performance Testing
    • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Experience testing enterprise system integrations using REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, messaging services, and secure file transfers.
  • Experience testing Microsoft Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps, Dataverse, and Power Automate.
  • Experience validating data migration, data synchronization, reporting, and interface functionality.
  • Experience using API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or similar.
  • Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Playwright, EasyRepro, Power Apps Test Studio, or comparable technologies.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps Test Plans, defect management tools, source control, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, QA best practices, and risk-based testing.
  • Proven ability to identify, document, prioritize, and verify defect resolution throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Nice to Have
  • Experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud services and cloud-hosted applications.
  • Experience with enterprise asset management, operations management, workflow automation, or business process applications.
  • Experience working within public sector or large enterprise organizations.
  • Experience supporting large-scale digital transformation or enterprise application implementation projects.
