Elementary Coach/Teacher/Tutor Wanted

Gain valuable teaching experience! Oxford Learning South Surrey - Panorama is currently seeking part-time teacher-tutors for a role in our learning centre. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys writing and editing, can teach math up to Grade 7, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas. Our program helps students with academic struggles while also developing cognitive skills - a love of teaching students HOW to learn is a must!

The Role:

You will not be required to lesson plan or create learning materials for students - we do that for you! Your role includes reporting on concepts covered and cognitive skills discussed, monitoring and reporting on student progress, and ensuring student programming moves at an appropriate pace, all during your shift - you will never be expected to bring work home.

All classes at Oxford Learning take place during after-school hours, from 3:30pm - 7:00pm or 8:00pm.

Must Haves:

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field (third and fourth year university students with tutoring experience will be considered)
• Ability to dynamically teach English
• Ability to teach math up to the grade 7 level (think of fractions, decimals, percentages)
• Experience teaching or tutoring
• Native English speaking: excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
• Ability to guide students’ understanding of a variety of concepts
• Ability to stay calm and professional at all times

Nice to Haves:

• Teaching certification in BC
• French written and oral communication skills
• Comfort with teaching high school students

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $19 - $21 / hour

Schedule:

• Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3:30pm - 8:00pm

*This is not a seasonal position. A commitment of one full school year is required (2026-2027).
