.About the Opportunity
  • Provide reliable financial information, account reconciliation analysis and operational support related to events, tenants, 3rd party agreements and other internal management reporting requirements.
  • Support in the implementation of risk management and internal controls, including assessment and monitoring, whether internal controls in place and are adequately designed and operating effectively and in compliance with accounting and organizational policies.
  • Ensuring integrity of general ledger provide timely and accurate month-end support, including journal entries (e.g., accruals, allocations, etc.), account reconciliations, variance analysis and assisting in the preparation of the year end audit, preparing notes and working papers.
  • Ensuring timely, complete, and relevant financial information supports senior management decision making, prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules and reports, variance analysis on operating expenditures, other income, and other supporting schedules for management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate billings to customer, in collaboration with operations, prepare event settlements, analytical reports include event profitability for events and operational services.
  • Co-ordinate and attend monthly meetings with third parties ensuring financial compliance, timeliness of collections of receivables and resolution of issues.
  • Support the preparation of month end and year end reporting timelines and assist in liaising with auditors.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of 3rd party billings, ensure effective and efficient controls are in place through performing annual audit of specified procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
About You
  • Working towards Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation in Canada – candidates that have successfully passed the (Common Final Exam) CFE Exam is considered an asset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
  • Three (3) or more years of progressive financial analysis experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint and Word.
  • Accounting and financial reporting experience in a computerized environment. Great Plains is an asset.
  • Strong analytical, organization and planning skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, and International Financial Reporting Standards / Public Sector Accounting Standards.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential documents and reports.

Pay Range
$35 - $40 / hour
