We're just getting started, and we want people who want to build it with us. Why This Role Matters As a Software Engineer, you will own a defined service or integration area within the Commercial System Project Team, taking responsibility for its delivery, reliability, and incident response.

As a hands-on developer, you will design, build, test, and maintain the software that connects systems and automates critical business processes across product catalog, customer management, ordering, billing, provisioning, and inventory management.

• You will work closely with engineers, vendors, and implementation partners to deliver solutions within the agreed back-office architecture.

Your work will help modernize the systems that support ZOLEO’s business operations while ensuring that the software within your area is reliable, maintainable, and ready to evolve.

• What You’ll Do Own Your Service Area.

Take end-to-end responsibility for complex feature delivery, reliability, runbooks, service-level objectives, cost awareness, and incident response, ensuring your area remains healthy without needing to be prompted.

• Build Backend Solutions.

Develop backend services, integrations, workflows, and business logic using clean, maintainable code.

Translate agreed business requirements into service-level designs and working software, identifying technical implications, gaps, and dependencies along the way. Design Within the Architecture.

Develop solutions that respect each system’s responsibilities, data ownership, and role as a source of truth.

Document technical decisions and trade-offs and collaborate with other teams when changes affect connected systems. Drive Quality & Reliability.

Write and maintain automated tests, review code, address technical debt, and verify software across complete business workflows.

Deploy, debug, and support your software in production, operating it to its security baseline and responding to incidents in accordance with established runbooks.

• Support Migration & Partners.

Build tooling and software changes required for migrations and rollouts.

Work with vendors and implementation partners on solution designs, integrations, technical dependencies, and issue resolution, ensuring the team has the documentation and access required to maintain and extend delivered solutions. Advance AI-Assisted Engineering.

Run a personal agent fleet using the shared toolkit and create and improve specifications that agents can consume.

Apply AI to coding, testing, refactoring, troubleshooting, and other engineering workflows while reviewing generated code and remaining accountable for its quality.

Demonstrate tangible improvements in engineering productivity or software quality.

• Mentor & Lead Technically.

Support junior engineers, lead service-level design discussions, contribute to broader engineering initiatives, and build toward ownership or larger initiatives.

• What You Bring Relevant Background.
• 4-6 years of hands-on experience developing backend software and integrations across business systems, with experience taking ownership of complex technical work. AI-Enabled Development.

Experience using AI as part of the software development process, with an emphasis on validating outputs and demonstrating improvements in productivity or software quality. Systems Thinking.

A strong understanding of how services, integrations, data, and business processes work together across connected systems, with the ability to identify dependencies and technical implications. Engineering Judgment.

The ability to make thoughtful technical decisions, evaluate trade-offs, maintain high standards for code quality, and take accountability for the software you own. Operational Mindset.

An understanding of what it takes to operate reliable production software, including security, performance, incident handling, and the customer and business impact of technical issues. Business Systems Knowledge.

Experience with workflow orchestration, CRM, billing, ERP, or commerce platforms is valuable, along with the ability to quickly learn unfamiliar systems and the business processes they support. Collaborative Leadership.

The ability to guide junior engineers, contribute constructively to technical discussions, and work effectively with engineers, vendors, and implementation partners. What We Offer Salary Range.
