Backfill / Vacant Position
The HR Coordinator's primary responsibilities are focused on performing a variety of human resource support duties including but not limited to recruitment, training, attendance, performance management, assisting in employee records and files. The individual will also be a key contributor with managing the facility’s Occupational Health and Safety Program to reduce work-related injuries and strive for a zero-accident culture. This role also is responsible for managing the Corporate Social Responsibility program at the facility.
Roles and responsibilities
- Responsible for full-cycle recruiting - post open jobs; screen, interview, complete reference checks, testing, extend offers and employee on boarding.
- Facilitates on-boarding process in conjunction with relevant department managers.
- Responsible for maintaining the employee training spreadsheet, training matrix, and job competency records.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Supports leadership team with internal employee changes, including creation of internal documentation.
- Supports the business as key point person for facility access control and other HR items related to our supply chain security (CTPAT) program compliance.
- Provides day-to-day guidance and coaching through interpretation of policies and procedures to managers and employees.
- Maintain the company’s performance evaluation program, policies, and procedures.
- Assists with managing the facility’s health and safety program including monthly meetings; accident / incident investigation; monthly inspections; safety talks; modified work programs and compliance-based training.
- Supports the ISO 14001 certification and auditing process for ISO and IATF certifications.
- Back up to the Payroll/Benefits Specialist as needed.
- Maintenance and monitor security access and badges; update seniority board; attendance monitoring/recording; lunch orders for visitors; hotel reservations and transportation; SAP vendor setup and purchase order management; manage summer student program; coordinate Take Your Kid to Work Day event, other duties as assigned.
- Daily posting throughout the facility
- Administration of employee recognition and service award programs.
- Support Payroll/Benefits Specialist and HR Manager on all other HR department critical tasks and the deployment of all local, regional, and global HR programs.
Experience/Skills/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field.
- HR designation CHRP/CHRL an asset.
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar Human Resource management role within a fast-paced automotive/manufacturing environment.
- Thorough knowledge of Canadian (Federal) and Ontario (Provincial) labour, employment, labour relations act, human rights code, and occupational Health/Safety legislation.
- Knowledge of pay, benefits and pension programs and governance requirements.
- Demonstrates a high degree of initiative with a get it done mentality.
- Collaborative and works to build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally.
- Proficient in MS Office Applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint). Office 365, SAP, and Oracle.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Professional demeanor and ethical conduct.
- Strong sense of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion on sensitive information.
- Valid Driver’s license required
