Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with procedures, and ensuring smooth daily operations. Experience with dental software such as Tracker and Dentrix, as well as familiarity with orthodontics, pediatrics, and medical terminology, will be highly valued. This role offers an excellent opportunity for growth within a supportive environment committed to delivering high-quality dental services.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments in accordance with safety protocols
  • Keep the treatment rooms cleaned and sanitized
  • Assist the dentist during various procedures, including surgical, restorative and pediatric treatments
  • Take digital dental radiographs
  • Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care
  • Manage patient records accurately
  • Order and stock supplies
  • Scan the mouth and take an alginate impression when scan is not possible
  • Support the dental receptionist in managing patient check-in and check-out processes
  • Greet and seat the patients in the treatment room, build rapport with patients
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including infection control standards

Experience

  • 1 year prior experience in dental assisting is preferred
  • Certification or training in dental assisting is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential
  • Preference will be given to the local candidate
