Electrical Project Engineer / Project Manager (Power Systems)

We are seeking a motivated Electrical Project Engineer to lead and deliver complex engineering projects focused on power distribution, automation, and system execution. This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible role where you will combine technical expertise with project leadership and directly influence project outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing

Project Execution & Leadership

• Lead end-to-end execution of engineering and field-based projects
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across design, planning, procurement, and field services
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, milestones, and resource allocation
• Facilitate project kickoff meetings and ensure alignment across stakeholders
• Identify technical risks, deviations, and opportunities for improved efficiency and performance
• Drive successful project closeout, including documentation and lessons learned

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle
• Build strong, trusted relationships and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
• Provide clear project updates, reporting, and escalation when needed
• Collaborate closely with internal teams including sales, supply chain, and operations

Technical Engineering & Design

• Apply expertise in electrical power distribution, protection, and automation systems
• Review and validate engineering deliverables, including:Single-line diagramsElectrical layouts and schematicsDistribution and motor control designsInterconnection and grounding systems
• Support equipment specification and bid analysis (switchgear, transformers, cables, UPS, protection relays,
• Resolve technical issues in collaboration with internal teams, contractors, and clients

Safety, Quality & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all safety standards, regulations, and quality requirements
• Maintain the integrity and accuracy of engineering deliverables and installation activities

Financial & Commercial Oversight

• Support project budgets, cost control, and overall financial performance
• Contribute to forecasting, billing milestones, and revenue tracking
• Validate contractual requirements, including scope, specifications, and commercial terms

What You Bring

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• Strong experience in electrical engineering, power systems, or project-based environments
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while leading cross-functional teams
• Solid understanding of power distribution, protection, and automation systems
• Experience reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with project management tools such as MS Project and Excel

Nice to Have

• Professional Engineer ( designation
• PMP or formal project management training
• Experience with costing, bid analysis, or commercial project environments

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Calgary, AB.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $85.00/hr.
