Responsibilities & Expectations:

The Mechanic repairs various kinds of electro-mechanical equipment.

● Read and understand work plans

● Disassemble electro-mechanical and mechanical equipment identifying parts, configuration and condition

● Digitally record measurements, pictures and comments

● Operate specialized repair and testing equipment, including but not limited to: test panels, surge testers, core-loss testers, ovens, cranes, forklift trucks, paint booth, and various handheld power and non-power tools

● Perform vibration analysis of equipment

● Replace or repair worn or defective mechanical or electro-mechanical assemblies, such as bearings, brushes, motor leads, seals, impellers, mechanical switches, etc.

● Lift, tighten, adjust and/or secure heavy objects in order to perform work duties

● Perform field service repairs when required

● Observe all safety procedures and use proper PPE

● Ensure that all completed work meets the company’s quality standards

● Perform any other duties as assigned by the shop manager

Qualifications and Competencies:

● Electric Motor Service Technician, Journeyperson Millwright or apprentice with at least 2 years experience and enrolled in an apprenticeship program, or 4 years equivalent work experience

● Overhead crane experience preferred

● High school diploma

● Strong mechanical aptitude

● Valid Class 5 Drivers License
