Job description

POSITION TYPE FULL-TIME, 40 HOURS / WEEK About the Role : Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Program Accountant is responsible for managing funder reporting, accounts receivable, and program budgeting. This role involves managing collections, revenue and deferred revenue journal entries, and bank and AR reconciliations. The Program Accountant ensures accurate financial records, supports audits, and contributes to program financial compliance.Are you an experienced accounting professional with a passion for financial accuracy and program success? Join our team as a Program Accountant and play a vital role in managing funder reporting, accounts receivable, and program budgeting. What You’ll Be Doing :

  • Prepare journal entries to allocate overhead expenses to programs
  • Address funder inquiries related to collections and expense eligibility
  • Prepare funder reports to meet compliance requirements
  • Manage AR reconciliations, invoices, and collections
  • Support audits by preparing documentation and analysis
  • Assist in program budgeting and variance reporting
  • Collaborate with program staff to ensure financial accuracy
  • Build and maintain relationships with multiple and diverse stakeholders
  • Maintain confidentiality, and financial record keeping

What We’re Looking For :

  • Bachelor’s degree or certificate in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and / or 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a program or project accounting role
  • Strong financial reporting, budgeting, and accounts receivable management skills
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Experience with MS Dynamics GP (preferred)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with high attention to detail
