About the Opportunity
RhynoCare is seeking an experienced Personal Support Worker (PSW) to work at a Long Term Care facility in Port Hope. You will be hired and onboarded with RhynoCare as an Independent Contractor.

Responsibilities
- Observe, document, and promptly report changes in residents' physical, emotional or cognitive status to the primary nurse to support ongoing assessment and care planning
- Complete all documentation on time, and in accordance with corporate policies, ensuring that it is both current and accurate.
- Assist resident with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, toileting, and feeding, while promoting dignity and independence.
- Assist in the safe transfer, positioning, and mobility of residents using proper techniques and equipment, and in accordance with facility policies
- Provide care in accordance with the Fixing Long‑Term Care Act, 2021 (S.O. 2021, c. 39, Sch. 1), best practices, corporate policies, and procedures.
- Participate in agency risk management program related to resident care.
- Participate in quality improvement program related to resident care.
- Participate in new staff/student mentoring as assigned and promote educational opportunities to enhance their education.
- Participate in departmental, Interdisciplinary Team and resident safety meetings.
- Promote good understanding and teamwork between shifts, registered and unregulated staff
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures, including:
- Use all equipment in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
- Follow established safety procedures for lock outs.
- Wear proper safety equipment and PPE when necessary.

Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Proficient verbal and written English communication skills.
- Ability to speak a second language is considered an asset.
- Must meet one of the following criteria:
- Successful completion of a Ministry of Education approved PSW Training Program (minimum 640 hours) from a Community College or a school approved by the National Association of Career Colleges OR
- RN/RPN students with successful completion of Year 1
- Experience working as a Facility PSW is considered an asset.
Compensation
- Pay: $25-30/ hour (depending on experience and assignment)
