Job description

Health and Safety Advisor

Calgary, Alberta

Hybrid – Monday to Friday | 40 Hours/Week

Prosperity Workforce Solutions is excited to be partnering with one of Western Canada's most dynamic and rapidly growing medical organizations in their search for a dedicated Health and Safety Advisor. Our client is a well-respected, pioneering group of dermatology and multi-disciplinary medical offices serving communities across Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario — with a track record of growth and a strong commitment to promoting talent from within. This is a meaningful opportunity to shape a culture of safety within a dynamic, people-first organization that genuinely invests in its team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Human Resources Director, the Health and Safety Advisor will be responsible for coordinating health and safety processes and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety policies, procedures, and regulations across Canada. This individual will help develop, implement, and continuously improve a comprehensive safety program across our client's clinic locations and head office. If you're passionate about creating safer workplaces and ready to grow within a supportive, collaborative team, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Coordinate health and safety training, including certifications and new hire orientations
  • Develop and update toolbox meetings, MEMOs, PowerPoint training courses, bulletins, SWPs, HAAs, and policies
  • Provide monthly reports to the HR Director and operations team
  • Lead the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) for clinic operations and head office
  • Develop and maintain safe evacuation procedures for all clinics and head office
  • Lead all WCB, WSIB, and WorkSafe BC claims, mitigating lost time whenever possible
  • Address non-compliance and hazards with corrective actions
  • Conduct facility inspections, complete safety inspection reports, and follow up on corrective action items
  • Ensure safety binders are current, including SDS, SWP, HAA, training records, and the Safety Manual
  • Travel to clinic locations as required

What You Bring

  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent industry experience
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) designation preferred
  • 3–5 years of prior experience working within the Occupational Health & Safety discipline
  • Experience in the healthcare or medical industry is an asset
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in creating and delivering training programs
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Compensation & Benefits

Our client takes care of their people. The successful candidate can expect:

  • Competitive base salary of $80,000 – $85,000 annually
  • 5% annual bonus eligibility based on individual and organizational performance
  • Annual clinic allowance — enjoy discounts on medical aesthetic treatments and skincare products
  • RRSP matching program to support your long-term financial wellness
  • Comprehensive health benefits package
  • Hybrid work model — Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with flexibility built in
  • Genuine opportunities for career advancement and internal growth
  • Continuing education opportunities to support your professional development
  • Paid parking
  • Annual performance reviews
  • Collaborative, close-knit team culture with fun monthly team challenges

Fluid thanks you for your interest in this opportunity. However, only candidates with the required qualifications will be contacted.

Fluid adheres to the principles of equal employment opportunity and affirmative action. We welcome and encourage diversity in our workplace.

Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
