Job description

HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find a Logistics and Inventory Planner to coordinate and optimize supply chain operations, ensuring the efficient, timely, and cost-effective movement of materials and inventory.

In this role, you’ll manage inventory planning, purchasing, supplier coordination, and logistics activities that support manufacturing and service operations. You'll proactively identify supply risks, resolve time-sensitive issues, and help maintain business continuity in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and proactive, with experience balancing inventory, supplier relationships, and logistics operations while managing shifting priorities.

As a Logistics and Inventory Planner, you'll:
  • Determine material requirements and generate purchase orders aligned with production schedules.
  • Partner with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal teams to ensure a reliable supply of materials for manufacturing and service operations.
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships while identifying and mitigating potential supply chain risks.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring documentation is accurate and compliant with company and industry requirements.
  • Optimize transportation methods and routes to balance cost efficiency with delivery performance.
  • Maintain Material Planning and Logistics master data to ensure accurate system visibility.
  • Proactively identify and resolve material shortages, inventory risks, and out-of-stock situations.
  • Analyze supply chain issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve operational performance.
  • Monitor inventory health and help minimize inventory obsolescence.
  • Partner with Finance and Operations to support supplier payments, production objectives, and logistics cost management.
  • Travel up to 25%, including occasional international travel.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in inventory management, logistics, supply chain planning, or a related field
  • Experience with purchasing, inventory management, and supplier coordination
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Experience identifying process improvements and implementing corrective actions
  • General understanding of freight forwarding and international logistics
  • Proficiency with ERP, TMS, and MRP systems
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, including occasional international travel

Bonus Qualifications:
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA
  • Experience in demand planning or forecasting
  • Experience working with third-party logistics (3PL) providers
  • Vendor or supplier negotiation experience
  • Knowledge of customs, brokerage, and export compliance
  • APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) certification

Benefits:
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits
  • Employer (HireArt) subsidized healthcare benefits (eligibility begins on the first of the month following 60 days of service)
  • Flexible Spending Account for healthcare-related costs
  • HireArt covers all costs for short- and long-term disability and life insurance
  • 401k package

Commitment: This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via HireArt. It will be onsite and available to candidates who are local to the Hayward, CA area.

HireArt values diversity and is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States. Unfortunately, we are not able to sponsor visas or employ corp-to-corp.
