Job description

This role will play a key part in maintaining schedule integrity and supporting field execution as the project advances through its later stages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize integrated project schedules using Primavera P6
  • Perform detailed resource loading, productivity tracking, and workforce planning aligned with construction and commissioning activities
  • Support short- and long-term planning for field execution, construction sequencing, and turnover milestones
  • Interface with construction, engineering, and operations teams to ensure schedule alignment with site realities
  • Monitor critical path activities and identify risks to schedule, proposing mitigation strategies
  • Track progress against baseline schedules and provide regular reporting to project stakeholders
  • Support planning for site-based activities, including coordination of periodic field execution work

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in project planning/scheduling within mining, heavy industrial, or large-scale construction environments
  • Strong proficiency with Primavera P6 (P6 scheduling, resource loading, and progress tracking)
  • Experience supporting construction, commissioning, or brownfield/greenfield mining projects
  • Solid understanding of construction sequencing, productivity metrics, and field execution planning
  • Ability to work effectively between office-based planning teams and site-based operations
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interface across multidisciplinary teams

Work Environment

  • Primarily office-based in Saskatoon with periodic travel to site
  • Site access supported (transportation available as required)
  • Standard schedule: Monday to Friday, approximately 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with some flexibility based on project needs
