Payroll Administrator

Calgary, AB | Full-Time

Keep Payroll Moving. Support Our People.

At PTW, our people are at the heart of everything we do.

As a leading industry solutions provider, PTW delivers construction, fabrication, and maintenance services across Canada. Our teams support customers across the agricultural, mining, oil and gas, petrochemical, pulp and paper, nuclear, and renewable energy industries.

We're looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our Calgary team and play an important role in ensuring our employees are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with provincial and federal requirements.

Reporting to the Manager, Payroll & Benefits, you'll work in a busy, high-volume environment supporting payroll for salaried and hourly employees across multiple provinces.

If you're someone who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, staying organized, and making sure the details are right, we'd love to hear from you.

A Day in the Life

As a Payroll Administrator, you'll be responsible for:

  • Preparing and processing salaried and hourly payroll across multiple provinces.
  • Processing employee changes including new hires, terminations, transfers, wage adjustments, and other payroll updates.
  • Ensuring payroll changes are entered accurately and within required timelines.
  • Generating Records of Employment (ROEs) as part of the payroll process.
  • Responding professionally to payroll questions and requests from employees and managers.
  • Following up with managers and employees when additional information is required.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records and personnel information.
  • Updating and maintaining employee files and emergency contact information.
  • Supporting payroll administration, data entry, filing, and other related activities.
  • Ensuring payroll practices remain compliant with applicable federal and provincial legislation.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

You'll bring:

  • Experience processing multiple payroll cycles is an asset.
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification completed or in progress is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills.
  • The ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
