Payroll assistant Jobs in Langley, BC

Our client is a successful, stable, and well-established Canadian company based in Surrey , BC. The company is looking for a Junior Analyst to support reporting on their commission payroll team. This is a 4-to-6-month contract with a Monday January 5th start date , with decent chance for contract extension or possibly even conversion to full-time employment if a great long-term match on both sides and business needs align.

What- the Role :

Our client is looking to hire a Junior Analyst on a contract basis (4 month to 6 month term, with chance for extension and possibly even for conversion to permanent employment). Reporting into the Senior Manager, Payroll & Benefits and working with others on the tightknit payroll team.

The contractor will be responsible for downloading and running payroll commission reports (for the sales people who earn commission-based compensation), reviewing / analyzing / formatting the payroll commission data, and sharing the results and reports with relevant Managers. The Jr Analyst will be using plenty of Excel, as well as an industry-specific software.

The person in this role is not actively involved in processing payroll, they are more so focused on commission payroll reporting. In addition to the day-to-day of this role, the contractor may also help with payroll automation and process improvements.

Who- the Candidate :

We are looking for candidates with at least 3 years of relevant and transferable work experience in a corporate setting. Experience working on a payroll & benefits team is highly preferred- but we may also consider candidates who have worked in other corporate departments in a similar junior analyst function (for example, in HR, accounting, sales, etc.).

Candidates must have experience running / downloading / analyzing reports, and ensuring accuracy before presenting those reports to others in the business.

Qualified candidates will have solid intermediate to advanced level proficiency in Excel, and be able / willing to quickly learn how to use another system.

Strong verbal and written communication skills are important in this role.

We are looking for people who are reliable, accurate, detail-oriented, efficient, and who are confident communicating with a variety of internal stakeholders on different corporate teams.

Someone successful in this role will have a self-motivated work style and a team-player attitude.

Ideally candidates will live in Surrey and / or close to a SkyTrain station, so that the commute is a good one for them.

How Much :

Hourly rate commensurate with the hired individual’s experience, education, and qualifications, likely in the range of $27.50 to $32 an hour (perhaps with some wiggle room for someone who has very relevant experience).

Where :

HYBRID . The company is headquartered in Surrey and the Junior Analyst will work from the beautiful head office 2 days a week, with the option to work from home up to 3 days a week as long as the contractor has a very good home office set-up with reliable internet (work laptop will be provided on temporary basis). Very close to a SkyTrain station, as well as various bus lines.

When & How to Apply :
