Job Title: Machine OperatorJob DescriptionThe Machine Operator sets up and operates PEM and Press Brake machines to produce quality sheet metal parts on time. This role maintains machine conditions, performs routine maintenance, and ensures that all manufactured parts meet quality and on-time delivery requirements. The Machine Operator works closely with the team lead to follow production schedules, document machine setups, and support continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Set up PEM and Press Brake machines and select appropriate part programs to perform assigned tasks.
- Operate press brake bending machines according to the planned production schedule.
- Review programmed settings, set up the machine, select the correct program, bend parts, verify quality, and pack finished parts onto pallets.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on machines according to established schedules.
- Measure and inspect manufactured parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Communicate hardware inventory shortages and overages to the team leader for replenishment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
- Ensure all documents, machine setup measurements, and part-related records are accurate and up to date.
- Assist in compiling data related to special projects as requested by the team leader.
- Follow and support inventory processes, procedures, and contractual requirements.
- Evaluate and analyze manufacturing processes and operations, suggesting improvements to increase productivity and reduce production costs.
- Demonstrate self-initiative by taking on additional tasks when work is available rather than waiting for direction.
- Consistently meet workload and output targets while maintaining high-quality standards and safe work practices.
Essential Skills- At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment or in machine operation.
- Basic computer skills to look up part programs and update documentation.
- Ability to set up and operate production machinery safely and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail when measuring and inspecting parts for quality.
- Ability to follow production schedules and work instructions accurately.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with the team leader and coworkers.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks.
- Commitment to safe work practices and maintaining a clean work area.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience operating Press Brake machines.
- Experience with AMADA machines.
- Technical diploma or related technical education.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities in a production or team environment.
- Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
- Strong sense of independence and initiative in daily tasks.

Work Environment
This role is based in a sheet metal production environment working alongside approximately three other team members and reporting into production leadership and a sheet metal team lead. The shift runs from 8:00 . to 4:15 ., Monday to Friday. The facility is transit accessible, including nearby bus service. Personal protective equipment includes safety-toe work boots, with gloves, waist support, wrist straps, ear plugs, and eye protection available as needed. A boot allowance is provided upon transition to permanent employment. Work performance is measured by completed workload, quality of output, adherence to safety practices, and demonstration of initiative in taking on tasks.
