Job description
Senior Operations Manager – Global Maritime Logistics (Hybrid)
Brampton, Ontario
$135,000 Hybrid model (1 day Work-From-Home / 4 days in office) + Half-Day Fridays all summer long.

About the Opportunity
We are representing an established, global market leader in the international food trading sector based in Brampton, Ontario. Operating across more than 70 countries, our client is a recession-proof industry giant with a fast-paced, high-volume commercial trading desk.

We are seeking a commanding, strategically minded Senior Operations Manager to take full accountability for their high-volume international maritime division. This is a high-visibility leadership role requiring deep expertise in global container shipping, cold chain logistics, and direct carrier negotiations.

If you are a decisive operations leader who thrives in high-stakes environments, can command a highly assertive team, and wants to drive true continuous improvement, we want to hear from you.

Advantages
Highly Competitive Compensation: Base salary of $110,000 – $135,000

Work-Life Balance: Hybrid model (1 day Work-From-Home / 4 days in office) + Half-Day Fridays all summer long.

Vacation: 3 Weeks starting from Day One (firm).

Health & Wellness: 100% Employer-paid health and dental plan (excluding LTD) after 3 months.

Retirement: 4% RRSP matching program after 1 year of service.

Responsibilities
High-Volume Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and drive daily operational accountability for a fast-paced team of 15 Logistics Coordinators running approximately 20 shipments each per week (300+ weekly container movements).

Foreign-to-Foreign (Crosstrade) Operations: Oversee complex, global ocean freight corridors. Manage the documentation, compliance, and routing for direct port-to-port shipments that do not transit through Canada.

Cold Chain Management: Take complete ownership of temperature-controlled logistics (ocean reefers) for frozen and perishable food commodities, ensuring absolute cargo integrity from origin to destination.

Direct Carrier Negotiations: Lead high-level ocean contract and freight rate negotiations directly with major global Steamship Lines (SSL) to secure space, optimal pricing, and detention/demurrage free-time extensions.

Continuous Improvement & Technology: Identify operational bottlenecks, streamline intermodal drayage/warehousing, and spearhead the modernization of daily workflows and transit visibility.

Financial & Claims Governance: Direct logistics budgets, manage global RFQ/tender processes, and decisively resolve high-value marine and inland cargo insurance claims.
