Ontario Wealth Management Corporation ("Owemanco") is a Toronto based balance sheet real estate lender with operations in Canada and the U.S. Owemanco originates, underwrites, and manages short-term commercial loans ranging in size from $1 to $25 million. Owemanco is seeking a commercial mortgage underwriter to manage credit analysis, loan adjudication and construction loan monitoring in Canada and the U.S. Specifically, the successful candidate will :

• Review and evaluate new loan opportunities, including an overview and recommendation to management whether to proceed with the transaction;
• Draft term sheets and commitments and partake in the structuring and negotiating of financial terms and loan modifications with borrowers and brokers;
• Complete underwriting of transactions, including conducting site inspections, interviewing borrowers, reviewing property financials and third-party reports;
• Interacts with borrowers and brokers directly and enhance client relationships by providing prompt and courteous service to our client base;
• Prepare loan investment memorandums for credit committee review and approval;
• Instruct lawyers, title companies and third parties to coordinate loan closings, including reviewing loan documents and otherwise manage transactions through to closing;
• Participate in meetings with the underwriting and origination teams to discuss the status and nuances of ongoing transactions; and
• Travel, when needed;
• Monitor draws and coordinate advances on construction loans.

Desired Skills :

Educational requirement will be, at minimum a Bachelor's level degree.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum experience of 7 years in commercial real estate (not necessarily underwriting mortgages) and must have an objective eye along with :
